Ukulele Ensemble

If you're a ukulele player who wants to play with other music lovers like yourself, this is the group for you! Hosted by our professional ukulele instructors, Melody Mart's Ukulele Ensemble is designed for ukulele students with some experience reading chord charts and playing basic strum patterns. Students who are enthusiastic about learning are welcome to join also.

In Ukulele Ensemble, depending on level and comfort, students will:

• Learn beginning to advanced strum patterns
• Learn fingerpicking techniques and tablature
• Play musical pieces with varying parts
• Opportunity to demonstrate their progress during the Open Mic portion of group
• Get feedback and tips from other ukulele players
• Be a part of a growing ukulele community

This jam is designed for students 13 and older, but special exceptions may be made to admit younger students with more playing experience. Students should already know (or be prepared to learn): how to read chord charts, standard notation and TAB, and how to count basic rhythms.

The Ukulele Jam Band is a recurring event that happens on a monthly basis at Melody Mart. This class is suited for all levels, however the class is specifically designed for individuals who have one or more years experience playing ukulele. This is a low-pressure, fun, and relaxing group class.

A ukulele is required to participate, but we do offer a selection of ukuleles for purchase at Melody Mart. Music is provided by the instructor. We can't wait to see you there!
