Meet Jordan Foster

Jordan Foster has been an integral part of Melody Mart for 13 years, teaching upright bass, bass guitar, and music theory to middle school students and older. With over 20 years of musical experience and an Associate of Fine Arts from South Suburban College, Jordan brings both technical expertise and a passion for music education to his students.


His musical journey began in the fifth grade on euphonium. Influenced by Motown, rock, and blues, Jordan has performed in various ensembles and continues to draw inspiration from different musical styles.


As an educator, Jordan believes that learning music is an individual journey, and he tailors his teaching methods to each student’s skill level and interests. His motto, “Anyone can do it”. His favorite moments at Melody Mart come from witnessing students' enlightenment as they progress in their musical journey.


Jordan encourages students to bring their instrument and a good attitude to lessons. Jordan remains committed to helping students unlock their potential and develop a lifelong love for music.


In addition to teaching, Jordan is also Melody Mart’s Lead Repair Technician, ensuring that instruments are in top playing condition for students and musicians alike. With years of hands-on experience, he specializes in maintaining and repairing a wide range of instruments, from guitars to woodwinds and brass. His deep understanding of instrument mechanics, combined with his background, allows him to diagnose issues quickly and provide high-quality repairs. Whether it’s a routine adjustment or a complex restoration, Jordan is committed to keeping instruments in peak performance shape, helping musicians sound their best.
