Imagine a world where tiny hands and big imaginations come together in the joyful exploration of music! As we gather, we are not just learning music—we are experiencing the magic of collaboration, creativity, and growth in ways that extend far beyond the sounds we make. Every child is inherently musical and music is a natural pathway for connection, growth, and joy. In these sessions, every note, beat, and movement is an opportunity to learn, connect, and thrive in a world of sound.

Symphonic Seedlings is one-of-a-kind!
During the class, we explore different elements of music that serve as a foundation for the student's musical journey. We review different instruments that exist, music history and different musical genres. During the class, I incorporate therapeutic music elements like songs with affirmations and positivity.Â
Plus, the students have the opportunity to play instruments together to learn how to listen carefully—to everyone. I also integrate early childhood education like colors, numbers etc. Because I am also bilingual, what we learn in English we also learn in Spanish!
Some of the topics we cover are:
Rhythmic awareness – clapping, drumming, and moving to a steady beat
Pitch recognition – matching tones, singing simple melodies
Listening and attention – following musical cues and directions
Emotional expression – using music to explore and name feelings
Gross and fine motor skills – through movement, dancing, and playing small instruments
Social interaction – singing and creating music with peers in a supportive setting
Language development – through singing lyrics, rhyming, and vocal play
Creative thinking – improvising sounds, movements, or rhythms
Self-regulation – using music to calm, focus, or energize themselves

Hola! I’m Madai
...and I am a Bilingual early childhood music educator at Melody Mart. I am all about helping out within my community in many ways past music. My love for teaching developed throughout my past experiences which have included academically tutoring children K-3rd grade to adults in a college setting. Musically, I started at a young age in grade school and continued with instruments like flute, clarinet, alto Sax, guitar, ukulele, piano and as well as composing music(writing songs).
At the heart of my teaching is the belief that music has the power to help children grow—not just musically, but emotionally, socially, and even academically. I meet students where they are at and work together to meet their goals/interests. Through playful, interactive experiences, I aim to spark curiosity, build foundational skills, and support the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. You can read more about me here.

I am a big believer that children learn most during play.
Over time, I noticed that many children, especially those with challenges in social settings, could benefit from a space that blends the joy of music-making. That’s why I created this group: a welcoming, developmentally-attuned class where music becomes a tool for connection, expression, and confidence-building.Â
Not only did I want to cultivate a safe, music-filled space for families with young children in my community but also provide an opportunity for young students to learn how to play music in a group setting. Music education serves as a foundation for success within not only the arts, but across their entire academic journey as well. There’s a unique confidence that blossoms within the child when their sound fits into a larger composition. It is an immense boost in their self-esteem!

Who is Ideal for this class?
This program is aimed for those in early childhood which ranges from 2-8 years old. Of course parents, guardians and caretakers of the students are welcomed.
Does it cost anything?
For current students at Melody Mart, it does not cost anything as it is included in your subscription. For non-students, the price is $20 per class.
What are the results of attending this class?
Over time, students will develop stronger communication skills—both verbal and non-verbal—while also building emotional awareness and self-regulation tools through music. Socially, they learn how to connect, share, and collaborate with others in a supportive and joyful setting. Students practice taking turns, waiting for cues, and sometimes leading their peers which enhances their ability to focus and develop critical listening skills.Â
These moments of collaboration build empathy and foster a sense of belonging, as each child’s contribution is vital to the success of the whole group. This illustrates how their actions affect others—an early lesson in teamwork. Although some children may be shy or find it hard to communicate verbally, through music, they can express their feelings more easily like joy, excitement, or curiosity. This is especially important for early childhood, where emotional regulation is still developing.Â
In that circle of little musicians, each child isn’t just learning to play an instrument—they’re learning to be part of something harmonious, both in music and in life.
Anything else I need to know?
Most supplies and small instruments are included. However, you are more than welcomed to bring your own! Each group class runs for about an hour. Additionally, music group instruction serves as a precedent for a smooth transition to private music instruction and/or it can also serve as a supplement to their current private instruction.
