Meet Alyssa Stanley

Alyssa brings nine years of musical experience to her role as an instructor at Melody Mart, where they has been teaching for the past two years. They specializes in working with students ages 8 and up, creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment that empowers students to connect deeply with the music they play.

With a teaching philosophy centered around student engagement, Alyssa believes that learning music is key to building meaningful connections. Her approach blends visual and auditory techniques to accommodate different learning styles and is guided by a commitment to positive reinforcement. They encourage growth and resilience, often saying,


"If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn’t have hotdogs,"

to inspire students to embrace their mistakes as part of the learning journey.

Alyssa is passionate about teaching jazz and video game music, drawing inspiration from artists such as Vulfpeck, Wes Montgomery, and George Benson. Her go-to teaching resource, The Real Book, aids her in helping students find joy in learning and performing their favorite songs.
