AUDITION DATES
April 21, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
April 22, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
April 7, 2023
JUNIOR ARTIST DIVISION (Ages 8-10)
INTERMEDIATE ARTIST DIVISION (Ages 11-14)
SENIOR ARTIST DIVISION (Ages 15-18)
GUIDELINES
All entries must be made in accordance with the following guidelines. Failure to do these will result in disqualification.
The audition will take place in Room 1137 at South Suburban College.
Competition is open to vocalist and instrumentalists. Solos, duets, trios and quartets are accepted.
Your piece must be a minimum of 16 bars long, not counting repeats. Maximum performance times are:
3 minutes for Junior Artist
5 minutes for Intermediate Artist
7 minutes for Senior Artist
You must play your piece from memory without cuts. Only standard original solo repertoire for the instrument or the voice will be accepted. No transcription or arrangement will be accepted.
Each participant will be heard by a panel of judges. You must provide two copies of a score for judges to view during your audition.
All entrants must reside in SSC District 510/Northwest Indiana or study with music teachers in these areas.
Performers must provide accompanist for auditions, if applicable.
Winners in the 2019 SSC Young Musicians’ Competition cannot participate.
The audition fee is $20 for each entrant. Cash or check to South Suburban College is accepted.

AWARDS
Winners of this prestigious competition will have an opportunity to perform at a concert of the SSC Music Department during the 2023-2024 season.
